On September 17, Secretary of State John Kerry appeared before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to discuss the United States' strategy to defeat the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a terrorist organization that is killing innocent, unarmed civilians in both Iraq and Syria. الطلاب في المرحلة الثانوية و ذلك للدراسة في المدارس الثانوية الأمريكية وهو مبادرة من الولايات المتّحدة
الأمريكيّة لهذه الفئة للعام الدّراسيّ 2015 - 2016
هذا البرنامج هو عبارة عن منح
دراسية تمولها وزارة الخارجيّة الأمريكيّة, توفر لطلبة
المدراس الثّانويّة في كثير من البلاد الإسلاميّة و العربيّة فرصة للدّراسة في
المدارس الثّانويّة الأمريكيّة والعيش مع عائلات أمريكية مضيفة لمدّة سنة دراسيّة
واحدة . وسوف يشارك الطلاب في الفصول الدراسية لمدة عشر اشهر, بما يشمل الحصص
الصفية، المختبرات والمعامل و البرامج والأنشطة اللامنهجية مع زملاءهم الأمريكيّين،
بالإضافة إلى مشاركتهم في أنشطة الإثراء
الخاصّة, والتي تضم الخدمة الاجتماعيّة, والتدريب على قيادة الشباب والتربية المجتمعية بالإضافة
إلى الأنشطة الأخرى التي ستطور لديهم درجة الفهم للمجتمع الأمريكي وذلك من خلال
الإحتكاك بالجماعات الأمريكية المختلفة.
شروط
المنحة:
- أن يكون الطالب في الصف التاسع او العاشر وقت تقديم الطلب

ان يكون تاريخ
الميلاد للطالب بين 1 كانون ثاني 1997 و1 آب 2000
§
أن يكون المعدل العام للطالب جيد
جدا( 80%)
و في مادة
اللغة الانجليزية (85%) على الاقل خلال الثلاث سنوات الاخيرة
§
تلبية الحد الأدنى من متطلب
إجادة اللغة الإنجليزية، والتي سيتم قياسها
من خلال الاختبار
§
أن يكون لديه قدراً
من المرونة والالتزام لتعزيز التفاهم الثفافي المشترك
§
ألا يكون مواطنا أمريكيا أو مقيما
دائما, وألا يكون من مواليد الولايات المتّحدة
§
أن يكون من سكان الضفة الغربية،

الطلاب مع عائلات أمريكية تم اختيارها بعناية فائقة من قبل جمعيات التبادل الشبابي
ذات الخبرة العالية والتي بدورها ستقوم بمتابعة و توجيه الطلاب خلال فترة إقامتهم.
وسوف يغطي برنامج برنامج كينيدي- لوجر للتبادل الثقافي والدراسي النّفقات الرّئيسيّة مثل تكلفة الطيران,

Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES) is seeking Palestinian secondary school students to participate in a study-in-the-USA initiative for high school students during the 2015-2016 school year. Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES) scholarships, funded by the US Department of State, give secondary school students in many Arab and Islamic countries an opportunity to study at American high schools and live with American host families for one academic year. Students will be enrolled in a full academic year, involving ten months of high school study in the US, attending classes, labs and extracurricular programs with their American classmates. YES students will also participate in special enrichment activities, including community service, youth leadership training, a civics education program and other activities that will develop a well-rounded understanding of American culture through interaction with diverse groups of Americans.
To be eligible to participate in the YES, students:
• Be enrolled in 9th or 10th grade at a secondary school at the time of application
• Must be born between January 1, 1997 and August 1, 2000
• Meet a minimum English proficiency requirement, which will be measured by a test;
• Have a cumulative grade of B (80%) in all academic subjects and a cumulative grade of B+ (85%) or better in English for the past three years;
• Should demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to promoting cross-cultural understanding
• Must not be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or have been born in the United States
• Be a resident of the West Bank, Gaza, or East Jerusalem
Students will be placed in carefully chosen American host families by experienced youth exchange
organizations that will also monitor and advise the students throughout their stay in the US. Major expenses such as airfare, room and board, pocket money and most other costs will be paid for by the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES).
The program supports students with disabilities and encourages their participation.

MEPI supports citizens’ efforts aimed at economic, social, and political empowerment; expanding opportunities for women and youth; and helping communities create positive change.
MEPI Local Grants promote greater freedom and opportunity for people in the region. MEPI directly funds local organizations serving Palestinians across the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem. Through supporting local partners to implement innovative projects, MEPI provides
an opportunity for Palestinian civil society to identify and solve challenges at the local level.
Since 2007, MEPI Jerusalem has funded sixty-five local partners to implement grants totaling
over 3.5 million USD. MEPI will be accepting applications from registered local organizations working in Gaza for economic development projects September 15th – November 1st, 2014. Local civil society organizations, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, professional organizations, youth groups, and women’s groups, are welcome to apply.
Applications will be evaluated through a competitive process. Local grants typically have
budgets ranging from $75,000 USD - $100,000 USD, and are up to one year in duration.
Projects should focus on the following three economic development program areas:
• Employment Generation
• Entrepreneurship
• Agriculture
**MEPI Local Grants cannot generate profits or taxable revenue**
**MEPI cannot facilitate access into/out of Gaza as part of a Local Grant**

TechCamp is an initiative launched by the U.S. Department of
State’s office of eDiplomacy to help grassroots organizations connect to their
community of peers around the world and strengthen their sense of

As part of our efforts to bolster
Palestinian athleticism, the U.S. Consulate General sponsored the Al-Majed
sports center’s “Sports Make Stars” project. On September 12, Public Diplomacy
Chief Richard Buangan visited the Friends School sports field to watch 60
remarkable Palestinian athletes with disabilities compete in an “Open Sports
Competition,” including track and field, shot put, and 100 to 400 meter races.

Consul General Michael Ratney toured the south Hebron Hills,
a rural area with 30 Palestinian villages and 4,000 residents. He reviewed the
progress local NGO COMET-ME is making to better the lives of residents with
off-grid electricity generation. The tour was also an opportunity to learn
first-hand about the issues facing local farmers.
