القنصل العام مايكل راتني: "حرية التعبير عن الرأي وحرية الصحافة هي قيم عالمية. هي مباديء من الممكن مهاجمتها ولكن لا يمكن اقتلاعها. كما قال وزير الخارجية كيري: "كل أمريكي يقف الى جانب الشعب في فرنسا ليس فقط من خلال التعبير عن الرعب و الغضب و السخط بسبب العمل العنيف والشرير الذي ارتكب 
ضد المدافعين عن حرية التعبير ولكننا ايضا نقف معا من خلال التزامنا بهدف مواجهة التطرف وهدف نشر الحرية وهو ما يخافه المتطرفون كثيرا"


Consul General Michael Ratney: Free expression and a free press are universal values. They are principles that can be attacked but never eradicated. As Secretary Kerry said, each and every American stands with the people of France, not just in horror or in anger or in outrage for a vicious act of violence perpetrated against champions of free speech. But we also stand together in our commitment to the cause of confronting extremism and to the cause which the extremists fear so much: freedom.

Development

التعليم مهم جدا للطلاب الفلسطينيين وكتير مدارس فلسطينية بتعاني نقص بيئة تعليمية صحية. الوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية دفعت 800.000 دولار لانشاء مدرسة بيت كاحل الابتدائية للاولاد بتفيد اكتر من 220 طالب. شوفو الصور لمدير الوكالة ديف هاردن بيلعب كرة السلة مع الطلاب واعملوا شير.

Palestinians value education. USAID invested $800,000 to construct the Beit Kahil Elementary Boys’ School, benefiting more than 220 students. Check out the photos of USAID Director Dave Harden playing basketball with the school’s students, and share as widely as you can.

 مجموعة نشطة من خريجين برامجنا في أمريكا الان عادوا لبيتهم في الضفة الغربية. مباشرة بعد رجعتهم ببدؤوا العمل على مشاريع ومبادرات لدعم المجتمع الفلسطيني المحلي. شوفو الصور من مبادرة لاعادة تأهيل شوارع في مخيم الدهيشة عملتها مجموعة خريجي برامج ياس.

We have very active alumni groups all over the West Bank. Upon their return from exchange programs in the U.S. they get involved in service projects to help the local Palestinian community. بتاريخ ٢ يناير٫ التقى القنصل العام مايكل راتني بممثلين عن جمعية سانت آيف وزار وادي الكريمسان في بيت جالا لكي يفهم اكثر عن تاريخ وحضارة الوادي المميز وكذلك الاهمية الدينية والزراعية الخاصة بالارض هناك وارتباطها بالراهبات ورجال الدين والفلسطينيين الذين يعيشون هناك.

On January 2, Consul General Michael Ratney met representatives of the Society of St. Yves and visited the Cremisan Valley in Beit Jala to understand better the valley’s unique culture and history, as well as the religious and agricultural significance of the land to the nuns, monks, and Palestinians that live there.

The American Consulate General in Jerusalem is pleased to announce the TechGirls Program for 2015. The program will bring 27 teenage girls (ages 15-17) from select countries in the Middle East and North Africa to the United States for a three-to-four week summer exchange program focused technology.
